Importing External Data Sources

Importing external data sources is a function used to import backed-up system configuration information into another SmartSolve environment (e.g., Users can design and test data sources in a test or training environment before they import the configuration to the production environment).

NOTE: External data sources must first be exported as a .resx file before being imported.

Follow the steps below to import external data sources.

  1. From the SmartSolve Administrator Tools tab, select Utility > Configure Data Sources.
    Result: The External Data Source window is displayed.
  2. Click the Browse button.
  3. Navigate to the folder where the file to be imported resides.
  4. Select the file and click Open.
  5. Click the Import button.
    Result: The data from the imported file is populated in the External Data Sources window.
