Testing External Data Sources

Once the data source is added, the administrator must test the database connection to verify the result page.

Follow the steps below to test external data sources.

1. From the SmartSolve Administrator Tools tab, select Utility > Configure Data Sources.
   Result: The External Data Source window is displayed.
   
2. Click the icon next to the external data source.
   Result: If everything is configured correctly the system should display the external data. If some of the information was not entered correctly, an error displays.
