Viewing Exported Information

Follow the steps below to view an external data sources file once it has been exported.

Click Open button to view the file.
Click the Open With button.

NOTE: The Open With option is not available if you have already associated a program to use for opening *.resx files.

Select Excel or Notepad from the list of programs.
Click the OK button.
Result: The file is opened , and the contents is available for editing.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to make a backup copy of the file before making any changes to the exported file.

NOTE: If necessary, the exported file can be opened in a text editor such as Notepad to manually modify the contents of the file before importing it to a new environment. The information for each External Data Source record is contained between the <DataSource></DataSource> tags, as shown below:
