Adding Functions in the Expression Editor

Certain properties allow expressions to be used to define how the property will behave.

Follow the steps below to add functions in the Expression Editor.

  1. Access the Expression Editor.
  2. Expand the Common Functions folder by clicking the "+" associated with the folder.
  3. Click the "+" associated with the folder containing the function to be added to the expression (i.e., Text, Date & Time, Math, etc.).
  4. Double click the applicable function.
    Result: The expression is displayed in the workspace at the bottom of the Expression Editor window.
  5. Edit the expression as applicable.
  6. After the expression has been defined and the syntax has been checked, click the Save And Close button to save the expression.
