Adding Group Trend Objects

Data groups can have a unique graphical image assigned to show a trend, such as Cost or Quantities.

Example of Report Grouping Trend by Cost

Follow the steps below to add group trend objects to a report.

  1. Drag and drop the Trend object from the Design tab located on the right side of the window, to the desired location in the Group(s) section of the Design canvas.
    Result: The Trend object now displays in the Group(s) section in the Design canvas.
  2. Click the Trend object just placed in the Group(s) section of the canvas.
    Result: The Properties dialog for the Trend object is displayed in the Design panel located on the right side of the window

  1. Click the drop down arrow in the GroupDataMember field and select the applicable option to set up the Trend option.
    Result: The GroupDataMember field displays the selected option.
  2. Click the drop down arrow in the GroupDataField field, and select applicable option.
  3. Click the drop down arrow in the ValueDataMember field, and select applicable option
  4. Click the drop down arrow in the Value field, and select applicable option.
  5. Click the drop down arrows for the Appearance properties, and select applicable options.
  6. Set any other applicable properties.
  7. Save the report by selecting Report > Save from the main menu.

The following table provides descriptions for the Trend property settings available for reports:

Property Description Grouping

Group Data Member

Determines the data model used for the group trend.

NOTE: All controls inside the Group section have to be from this Data Model parent or child nodes.

Group Data Field

Determines the field or expression used to generate the trend value.

Choices are:

  • Parent or child nodes of the selected data member
  • Expressions can be used to define the group trend value

Data

Value Data Member

Determines the data model used for the group trend value.

NOTE: All controls inside the Value section have to be from this Data Model parent or child nodes.

Value

Determines the value to be calculated for the group trend.

Choices are:

  • Parent or child nodes of the selected data member
  • Expressions can be used to define the group trend value

Label

The data value name.

Choices are:

  • Expressions can be used to define the Group display value.

Translate Label

Determines if the label will be translated when a report is run by a user.

NOTE: Translations must exist in the Translation File in order for this property to work.

Choices are:

  • Yes
  • No
  • Expressions can be used to define the Translation Label value

Width

Determines the width of the trend image.

 

  • Enter the width or use expressions to set the width based on a condition.
Appearance

Marker Type

Determines the marker for values in the trend.

Choices are:

  • None
  • Diamond
  • Circle
  • Cross
  • Square
  • Triangle
Appearance

Theme

The following themes can be applied to each trend:

Choices are:

  • Light Blue
  • Blue
  • Black
