Design Controls

Report Design Controls are found on the SmartInsight Designer window in the Design Panel, Design tab. Report designers use these controls to build a report by dragging controls directly onto the Design Canvas. Design Controls are available for layout and data, as well as for filtering and sorting data.

SmartInsight reports are made up of the following design controls:

• Report Design Layout Controls (i.e., Groups, Charts, Data Columns, etc.).
• Filter and Sort Controls (conditions)
• Data Model Controls

Each of these controls has properties. Changing these properties changes the behavior of the report and how the end user interacts with the report once it has been saved.
