How to Attach Local Numbering Schemes to Default Exception Types

All Local Organizations will inherit the Numbering Scheme applied to an Exception Type created under the GLOBAL Organization; however, LOCAL Organizations can apply their own Numbering Scheme to each of these default Exception Types if used locally to prevent skipped numbers in their Exception Lists.

1.     Log into the LOCAL Organization

2.     From the Portal Page, click Smart Solutions tab > Admin and Report > Setup. Under System Wide, select Exception Type.

3.     Click Action > Add.

4.     Select the Base Exception Type to apply the new Numbering Scheme to.

5.     Enter the Exception Type Name (General, Process, Product, or Customer)

NOTE: Exception Type Name must match GLOBAL Exception Name exactly if you wish for the LOCAL Number to be picked up when the Exception is created.

6.     Select the Numbering Scheme to use with this Exception Type

See How to Create Numbering Schemes.
